Franklin Pierce University

Institution Type: Franklin Pierce is a four-year, coeducational, nonsectarian college with approximately 1700 undergraduates located in Rindge, NH.  The College has satellite campuses in Concord, Keene, Lebanon, Manchester, and Portsmouth, NH offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees.

Degree Offerings
: College at Rindge: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science; The College of Graduate and Professional Studies:  Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science, Master of Education, Doctor of Arts and Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Unique Characteristics:

  • Located on 1200 acres with waterfront on Pearly Pond and fantastic views of Mount Monadnock.
  • Home to the Fitzwater Center for Communication, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to educating leaders of conscience in public communication.
  • The Walk In Europe (a semester-long walk through Europe) as featured in the NY Times and The Chronicle of Higher Education.
  • Known for our award-winning “Individual and Community” liberal arts core curriculum in which students are challenged to explore the individual’s responsibility to the community and, in turn the community’s relationship to the individual.
  • Home to three acclaimed institutes: The Monadnock Institute of Nature, Place and Culture; The New England Center for Civic Life; and the Center for Applied Public Opinion Research. These institutes provide students with hands-on experience relevant to their career goals.
  • Members of the Franklin Pierce faculty have been named New Hampshire Professor of the year four times in the last four years.
  • Glassblowing is a unique program within the Fine Arts area.  Students have the opportunity to learn basic skills as well as advanced expertise in the art.  The glassblowing studio was recently upgraded with new kilns.  Students do not need to be fine arts majors to take the course.
  • Franklin Pierce has its very own private volunteer fire department.  It is on of the few fully student-run fire departments in the United States.  They respond to about 200 calls a year with their 1969 Chevy Fire Truck.
